This is my New Year's post:

2005 Year in Review.

1. Family

All's well here. We all still love each other and we're all still in good health which are both a plus. Um, it seemed there were a lot more arguments this year: birthdays, law schools, jobs, LSATs, classes, etc. My brother and I have gotten a lot closer this year. I've become a lot more open with him and I only wish that he would become a lot more open with me. My great-grandmother died in February; she was 96. By the time the year ended, I decided that it was time to permanently move out. So, even though I love my family, home is now Flagstaff.

2. Academics

Phew. Stress. That's a good word for the whole category: stress. I managed a "B" spring semester of '05, straight "A's" during the summer, and another "B" this past fall semester. But, it's ok because I still have an ok GPA. I've already started studying for LSATs. I've been averaging about a 160, and my goal is a 170. I figure since I still have over a year before I take the test, I can really get my score up. I've had some bomb-ass teachers and some teachers who need a bomb dropped on his ass. I learned a shitload, and in the longrun, that's what truly counts.

3. Extracurriculars

Hm, I suck at commitment (in regards to extracurriculars). This year, I started in hall council, Hillel, mock trial, and phi alpha delta. As of now, I'm not in any of them. I still have my job at the honors office... that's kinda extracurricular. And, of course, I still have Sigma Beta Kappa! That group takes up every Thursday-Sunday (sometimes more). So, it's a huge time commitment. I also managed to squeeze in some volunteering at Clark County Legal Services.

4. Location

Flagstaff still rocks my world. Tinsley is awesome. I was glad to get out of Cowden and I love my new friends in Tinsley. It's so cool that we all live so close and all get along so well. Uh, been back to Vegas. I was here over the summer, with my internship. Here for spring break, Thanksgiving and back here for Christmas. I don't think I went on too many trips... Iowa, went there twice this year. Went to Disneyland with my bro... good times. Flag and Vegas is about it though.

5. Fun

Hm, I like this category. Well, I started out the very beginning of this year with a shitload of drinking. Then stopped drinking. Went to a lot of parties. Home for the summer. Sober summer. Been drinking and smoking like crazy this semester. Partying. Hanging out with the Summer Brew Crew (I heart them all of so very much). This semester, I've been to a glow in the dark party, highlighter party, black light party, Communist party, martini party, Rasta party, Halloween party, Christmas party, New Years party, birthday parties, summer beer nights, girl's night, and so many more that I can't remember enough to be able to name all of them. SOOO MUCH FUN!!!!!

6. Romance

Wow, thinking about this year as a whole is insane. I guess I broke up with Alex right when spring semester started. Then, I hooked up with a few random people (not going to include names). I dated a kid named Ben for a week and a half. He told me that he was falling in love with me. I got scared and broke up with him. That same night I had an awesome hookup with one girl and two guys-- all together. Sooo much fun (so much drama, lol). Um, stuck to myself for the summer. Gave up on boys once school started. Made out will all my friends during the first month of school. Gave up on relationships. Swore off boys again and decided to focus on school instead. Met a guy who is apparently amazing at proving me wrong. He made me not give up on guys or relationship. Ian's awesome and we have this crazy, cool laid back relationship. It works sooo well cause it's exactly what we both want. It's been a few months already. I'd tell you the exact date, but we didn't bother to remember because we don't care. He's coming to visit me in less than a week and I can't wait!!! This one's good; I think he's a keeper.

I renounce my everlasting hatred toward Christmas. This Christmas has, by far, been the best Christmas ever. The day officially began at 9:45 when I arrived at a friend's house. My friend is an attorney from the job I had over the summer and we were waiting for another attorney to arrive. We began by drinking mimosa (I think?). It's champagne and orange juice. Anyway, a toast to another fucking Christmas. We drink.

Amazing breakfast.

Time to go to the movies. We stop at a store and buy vodka. (My friends are 29 and 31.) Two of us make screwdrivers in nalgenes (yeah, lots of oj). We see Chronic(what?)cles of Narnia. Again. Then, Memoirs of a Geisha. Bad movie. Not impressed. During that time, I sobered up... and got drunk again.

Three of us leave the movie theatre. Neither of them had movie hopped before. They enjoyed it. We drove around a lot looking for food. Went to a pub in GV Ranch Casino. Ordered a margarita. Didn't get carded. Found out a fool-proof way to get alcohol whenever I go out. Woo!

Got drunk again at the restaurant. We went to a party. Lots of DAs. And a cop. Definitely got trashed in front of a cop. AMAZING! Lost horribly at Trivial Pursuit. Watched a Catholic feed Jesus to a Jew. No joke! Watched Jesus roll across the table while hoorah-ing the touchdown. And I ate Peter and part of the Virgin Mary.

Now, I'm in my room, pretending to be sober. I read through this xanga entry like 40 times to check for spelling mistakes. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good fucking drunk night!

I can't be here for summer vacation. I already am sick and tired of being at home. I think it's official: I'm an adult. It's time for me to permanently move out. This isn't home... it's the life I used to live. I can't live here anymore. It's unchanging. I've changed too much to be thrust back into my old high school world and be comfortable.

I have a new life and it is no longer in Vegas. I love my parents and my brother and the people who all meet in Vegas a few times a year and pretend they are home. This epiphany has nothing to do with them. It really is all about me. I'm different and Vegas isn't and I can't live here anymore.

I'm homesick. I want to go back to the place where I can be me. I want to go back to Flagstaff. I miss my friends and my life.

I'm home. It's weird. I feel like I need to be doing one-hundred-million things. But I don't. I'm bored. Some of my friends aren't home yet. Those who are home I already saw. I really shouldn't be this bored, but I feel like I have absolutely nothing to do.

I start work tomorrow. I'm looking forward to that. I've already started studying for my LSATs. I'm really slow. I take up all the time and I still don't finish all the questions. I think time is going to be the biggest factor for me to overcome. I know all of the answers. I'm just slow.

My parents come home today. They were in Flagstaff. My brother has been working at JC Penney. We are all proud of him. Once this break picks up speed, it's going to be awesome. As of now, here is my itinerary:

Dec. 19-29: Volunteer at CCLS

Dec 30-1: Go to Tucson for a killer New Year's Party

Jan 2-6: Cruise! (with Rebecca and her family and magnetized Rummikub!)

Jan 6-11: Relax (more LSAT stuff)

Jan 11-14: Ian visits me

Jan 13-16: Parents are in Flagstaff

Jan 14: Leave for Flagstaff

Jan 14-16: Party like crazy in Flagstaff

Jan 17: School starts

Alright, this should be a fun break. I really am looking forward to it. For now, I need to go work on LSAT stuff. Take care! <3

Man, it's barely noon and I've already had a crazy day! I went to be at 4am... when I fell asleep on my computer... again. I had previously set alarms in the event that I did fall asleep. However, I turned off all of my alarms in my sleep. Somehow or another, I managed to wake up at exactly 7:30am... no joke! I threw on clothes and ran to my 7:30am final. Luckily, I was only 15 minutes late and it only took me an hour to complete my final. I may actually get an "A" in that class... I dunno.

So, I grabbed food and got back to my room around 9:00. I finished writing my paper and my cover letter and sent in my 15-page paper to my professor around 10:30... an hour and a half before the deadline. I was really happy cause this meant I had an hour before work and could definitely take a shower.

However, I decidedly to check my planner to see if I had anything else going on today... and I found out that I had two papers due in my speech communications class yesterday! They were due at 5pm and I had totally spaced it. I wrote a 5-page paper and a 2-page paper in the record time of 35 minutes and ran them over to the communications building. I grabbed lunch, and now, I am at work, amazed that I made it through the day.

Ugh! Huge paper due tomorrow. Final tomorrow. Work tomorrow. Studying tomorrow. I'm tired and I just don't wanna worry about school anymore! I want a break! Well, Thursday, I am done. I just have to get through til then. Luckily, I will have a little alcohol to tie me over tomorrow. Good luck on finals, everyone!

I am so sick of doing work. I've been doing far too much work for far too long. Every night, basically since Thanksgiving, I've been going to Ian's house. You may think that this is not work, but we sit in separate rooms and do homework until about 4 in the morning. I just want to be done with EVERYTHING! UGH!!!!

Well, 8 more days. I just need to keep up the good spirits... psh... yeah, good spirits, right. I'm at work right now and, frankly, I just don't feel like doing a god damned thing.

Happy 8-days-until-this-semester-is-over day!

I want it to be next Thursday. Next Thursday means no more school for a month. But I'm going to be really sad to say goodbye to my friends for a month. I won't really have a chance to spend time with them until I get back from break

Winter break is not as much of a break as I would like. I'm officially volunteering 40 hours a week for the first two weeks. I'm also going to study for 2-4 hours everyday for my LSAT. Luckily, I'm going on a cruise with Rebecca during the third week of break and the fourth week of break, Ian comes to visit.

Then, spring semester starts. Although I'm really excited about my classes, I'm taking 21 credit hours. That's probably a bit much and I really don't need all of those hours. Somehow or another, I always decide to take as many hard classes as possible so that I won't have to take them later.

Anyway, I have sufficiently wasted my last 4 minutes at work. It is now time to go do more homework. Are you excited?! I know I am!

I'm at work and I'm bored. I should be doing homework. Surprise! I'm procrastinating!

I'm thinking about how much I want to be at home right now. I can't wait to see my friends and eat real food. I'm pretty convinced that Union food is getting exponentially worse as we near Thanksgiving.

I saw a shirt this weekend that read "Mind Closed Until Further Notice." I was sooo pissed! None of my friends understood my aggravation. I've been complaining for quite some time about how stupid America truly is. I mean, seriously, who the fuck actually votes Bush into office? He didn't win the first election for a reason; why give him the satisfaction of actually winning an election? I also believe that the media controls the minds of Americans. Whatever the media says, goes. I'm sick of it.

So, I'm the mall and I see a man with this shirt on. He is actually admitting to letting Bush, the government, and media control his mind... and he's so proud of it that he's actually broadcasting it on his shirt. Can we say 1984? Hooray for Orwell and seriously predicting the future of the planet. I was so close to actually going up to this man and asking him what the fuck his problem is. Lucky for him, I was in a hurray and with friends who would have left without me. Fuck society! It gets more and more stupid and corrupt everyday!
